Daily Inspiration: Have Faith

Visionaries see the big picture and are not afraid of change. They don't hold back by refusing to leave their comfort zones.

Then there are those who have a "show me" mentality. They move forward only when they have proof the change is good. They will embrace the vision when they have evidence they will be moving in the right direction. They walk by sight. Then there are those who refuse to change or adapt at all. They often disagree simply for the sake of disagreeing.

The Israelites arrived at the edge of the land the Lord had promised to them after a long journey from Egypt. The journey was a process of learning obedience and faith. Now, they were ready to enter the land.

The Lord said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders" (Numbers 13:1-2).

The mission was simple—“See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many" (Numbers 13:18). After 40 days of looking around, the 12 men returned and reported incredible prosperity and fertile land.

However, 10 of them gave a bad report because of the fortified cities. Only two, Joshua and Caleb, had a different opinion. Do you fall into the "show me" category like the majority of Moses' scouts? Do you want complete proof of success before you will participate in God’s plan for your life? What seems impossible to us is possible with God—no matter how daunting. May we be like Joshua and Caleb—visionaries who knew they could not fail with God on their side!

Numbers 14:8

8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.
